Taoism

I think that "The Tao of Pooh" really cleared things up for me. Today i had the chance to reflect on alot of things and i discovered stress is inevitable. As we go about our daily lives we will experience death, crime, economy failures, and wars etc. I think that a world without stress is impossible. Toaism talks about a peaceful world and a balance of life. At the fall of man when Adam failed to resist the devil and warn Eve of the danger we lost that right to a stress free life. God said that man would have to work to provide for his family. God knew it would be alot of labor and stress. Every day i see my dad come home stressed out about being able to continue to provide for school, food, a house, sports, car repairs, and so many others. I see people's family's torn apart because of cancer, drunk drivers, babies not getting a chance to live their lives, and crime. We dont live in the "Hundred Acre Woods". I think its time for people to wake up and realize that. We go throughout our lives seeing people die and think "Oh well at least its not us". It drives me absolutly insane when i see news crews sit there and say things about how their was a three person shooting in seattle. They show absolutly no emotion. Life is going to be stressful, life is going to be laborsome. I think that once we understand that we will be able to show love to others in times of need. Lastly, I feel that stress being a part of life is what will make eternity with Christ all the better. We will live in a world without pain, suffering, or stress. SO my conclusion on Taoism is that it is imposible. Life cannot be perfectly balanced or stress free. One day it will be but that day is not this day while we live on earth.

I dont mind musicals that much i think this one could have had a little less singing and dancing. I think that the characters however were beautifully portrayed. I think that this is a pretty universal movie in that it shows that no one is a perfect human being. We all make mistakes...which does not mean they are ok but that we need to forgive.

I feel that King Arthur responds to Guenevere and Lance's love the way so many couldn't. King Arthur forgives them and figures they are human why should i hold them back from their love when they are probably in just as much agony as i am?

I think that the christian aspect in this move is that Christ dreams of a United body which he accoplishes through his death. King Arthur tries to unite all of England and like Christ he sends an invitation out to everyone but he does not force them to join his roundtable and it is their choice whether to join the united body just like Christ does not force us to accept him. It all comes down to a choice.

Some arcytypes are the shadow, the wise old man, the sidekick, the maiden, and the trickster. The maiden is Guenevere who is hopelessly trapped in a relationship with King Arthur that she wants to love but she can not force herself to love him. The wise old man is Merlin who King Arthur makes several reverences too as the one that taught him most of what he knows and who guided him through life. The sidekick is Lancealot who is always is by King Arthur's side and is his biggest ally even though in the end he falls in love with Guenevere. The shadow would be King Arthur because you can never really tell whose side he is on in the beginning with Lance Guenevere hating each other. The Trickster would be King Arthurs son who turns the knights of the round table against each other. :)

Language Class 2008

So far it has gone pretty well i mean i do not agree with the essay grading system that's probably my biggest disagreement. Many people in my grade know i want to be a lawyer when im older well i need to get good grades and be good at essays and outlines. Well, for many of you who dont know i have a 71% in the class that may be average but i am not a average student i am an A and B student. I currently have two 79 percents and one 71 percent and 4 A's well those C's are killing my G.P.A. So this year i guess my biggest goal would not only be to become better at essays and outlines but to become an A student and more organized student.

Achetypes In The Lord of the rings

There are a decent amount of archetypes in "The Lord of the Rings"
For example there are many examples of the shadow in the "Lord of the Rings". Two examples are gollum and bilbo gollum constantly guides frodo and sam beacause he wants to take the ring for himself. He has split personalities its like gollum is the evil side pulling at him and smegol is the good side. In the beggining of the trilogy we see the nice side of smegol and in the end we see a normal person driven to madness over a ring.
With Bilbo we see him as a loving caring person who looks after frodo...yet he is not a very social person. When he discovers the ring it starts to drive him mad so much that the normal loving caring person becomes a monster when he lashes out trying to take the ring from Frodo.
Another Archetype is the wise old man Gandalf deals lots of advice in the story to frodo which help frodo accomplish is task...as i was looking up quotes that would fit the wise old man i came across this one..."Pity? It was Pity that stayed his hand. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement." This reminded me so much of our world today so many innocent people are being killed while the cruel and unruley roam the streets free. Our world sees things in many different colors and shades but I think that they look to the elderly for advice because they have experienced life. Even when they did not expect danger or accusations or moments that they had to be heroic it didnt matter it was just thrown at them and they dealt with it.
other arcytypes: laziness, light and darkness, fire and water, and The Gardener(Sam Wise) were some.

THE HERO (Movie Blog)

Honestly it was hard to choose between my favorite movies in the past year. I decided that i would write about both. In The Dark Knight, Batman starts to question if he is really making gotham a better place to live. I feel that this relates to many of us today that we question are we helping people or just making things worse? Batman discovers his purpose in the end he knows that if he did not take the fall for harvy that all the criminals the white knight had put in jail would be released. Batman became what the city needed him to be.

In Saving Private Ryan the men set out to save a man that had lost all his brothers. There mission was to bring him home. When they eventually found Private Ryan He wanted to stay with his company to hold off the advancing German army. The fought hard to hold them off until reinforcements came. These are the type of people who fought hard to keep our country free. They are brave, and they are heroes.
